Opor chicken is very well known dish in Indonesia. Chicken opor claimed to come from civilized areas of Java, especially Central Java and East Java to the west. Nevertheless, this dish has also been widely known in other areas.

Opor chicken is actually fed boiled chicken seasoning of thick coconut milk plus various spices such as lemongrass, kencur, and so forth. In Javanese tradition, the celebration of Idul Fitri is usually made festive by creating a diamond opor presented with chicken and sambal goreng ati.
